Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and results-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our Renewable Generation team at our Atikokan location. The successful candidate will report to the Production Supervisor Technical and will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our thermal and hydroelectric generating assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct mechanical engineering assessments and evaluations to support the operation of turbine generators and auxiliary systems.
• Prepare technical documentation, including specifications and construction estimates.
• Provide technical support for maintenance and operational activities.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Respond to equipment failures and conduct field investigations as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Valid Class G Ontario driving license.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering within an industrial context.
• Registration with PEO as an EIT and commitment to obtaining an Unrestricted P. Eng. certification.
• Experience with mechanical systems in an electricity generation facility is an asset.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
