About the Role

As a Senior Proposal Development Specialist at OpenText, you will play a critical role in supporting the preparation and creation of proposals to drive sales opportunities. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days in our Waterloo office and 2 days remote.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire proposal lifecycle, from intake to final delivery, ensuring timely submissions and high-quality materials.
  • Proactively manage multiple proposal assignments and tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Drive the proposal process, ensuring critical milestones and deadlines are met, and coordinating reviews with key stakeholders.
  • Review and analyze customer requirements, creating task outlines and schedules.
  • Participate in team alignment calls and strategy discussions to clarify scope, gain insights, and develop win themes.
  • Coordinate contributions from sales, solution engineers, product, strategy, IT Security, and other SMEs to develop high-quality, compliant responses.
  • Create customer response templates and manage project workflow through the RFP process.
  • Prepare final documents for submission, formatting, proofreading, and editing for accuracy, clarity, and readability.
  • Train sales and cross-functional teams on proposal best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in managing our proposal content library, ensuring timely, consistent, and relevant market, product, and company information.
Requirements
  • Proposal management experience in the enterprise software or high-tech industry is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new software and processes.
  • Ability to work well within a fast-paced, high-energy team environment.
  • Integrity, flexibility, adaptability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to excel in a high-impact, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, and experience with a mainstream proposal automation tool and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
