Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Design Specialist to join our team at Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing, calculating, and stock listing fire sprinkler projects in a construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and calculate fire sprinkler projects to meet NFPA standards and local ordinances.
  • Focus on contract and renovation designs, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Liaise with management, estimating, design, fabrication, installation, and project management teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • Assist in maintaining company best practices in fire protection design, collaborating with the national fire protection design team.
  • Provide general support for Troy installation projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Fire Protection Engineering & Technology or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of design layout, hydraulic calculations, stock listing, and project management is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fire protection design.
  • NICET certification and/or ability to become certified.
  • Working expertise of AutoCAD and hydraulic calculations.
  • Experience with HydraCAD is an asset.
