Job Summary:

The Procurement Manager is a key member of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) team, responsible for leading strategic procurement initiatives and driving business value. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement processes, category management, and supplier relationships.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with WSIB's business objectives.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure optimal business outcomes.
  • Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals to deliver high-quality procurement services.
  • Collaborate with business areas to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and service enhancement.
  • Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with WSIB's procurement directives.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior management on procurement-related matters.
  • Manage and analyze procurement data to inform business decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • University degree in a related field or equivalent.
  • Sound knowledge of procurement and supply chain management principles.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in strategic sourcing and supplier management.
  • Category-specific experience in IT, consulting, HR, corporate services, facilities, operations, and/or healthcare.
  • Experience managing direct reports within a procurement department.
  • Knowledge of the public sector procurement environment, including the Ontario Public Sector Procurement Directives.
