Job Title: Indian Cuisine Chef

We are seeking a skilled Indian Cuisine Chef to join our team at Essence of Spice Indian Restaurant Inc.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating special events, planning menus, and preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods. They will also be responsible for inspecting kitchens and food service areas, training staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, and maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Co-ordinate special events and plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies and prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas and train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment and clean kitchen and work areas
  • Manage kitchen operations and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Requirements:
  • Safe Food Handling certificate
  • East Indian cuisine specialties
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically demanding and ability to work under pressure
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a team of experienced chefs and kitchen staff. They will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
