Overview:

Aegion is a leader in corrosion management solutions, seeking a Corrosion Technician II to enhance our operational capabilities. We specialize in providing comprehensive corrosion prevention and monitoring services to a variety of sectors, including energy, municipal utilities, and public infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute testing, evaluation, and installation of cathodic protection systems to mitigate corrosion on diverse structures.
  • Collaborate with senior personnel to interpret customer specifications and technical drawings.
  • Conduct detailed testing procedures to collect data for analysis.
  • Measure structure-to-soil potentials, soil conditions, and rectifier performance.
  • Draft schematics for rectifiers, anodes, test stations, and other critical components.
  • Support senior staff in compiling survey reports and final documentation.
  • Document physical characteristics of installation sites for future reference.
  • Organize and analyze collected data, preparing charts and tables for reporting.
  • Assemble information for final client reports, including recommendations for service improvements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot system issues observed during resurvey operations.
  • Suggest modifications to enhance system performance as necessary.
  • Apply foundational skills acquired as a Corrosion Technician I with increased autonomy.
  • Maintain field testing equipment, ensuring operational readiness and performing minor repairs.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Engineering Diploma; Apprentice/Journeyman Electrician designation preferred.
  • NACE CP Tester or Technician certification is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cathodic Protection, particularly in oil and gas sectors.
  • Rectifier training is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (22 kg).
  • Experience operating all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles is advantageous.
  • Required safety certifications include H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Defensive Driving, WHMIS, and TDG.
