Job Title: Corrosion Technologist

Corrpro Canada is seeking a skilled Corrosion Technologist to join our team. As a Corrosion Technologist, you will be responsible for planning and performing testing and field surveys for corrosion and corrosion protection systems, evaluating test results, and installing cathodic protection systems on various structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and perform testing and field surveys for corrosion and corrosion protection systems
  • Evaluate test results and install cathodic protection systems on various structures
  • Work with senior staff to gather data for evaluation of corrosion and corrosion control
  • Conduct field surveys to gather data for evaluation of corrosion and corrosion control
  • Execute pipeline and tank integrity testing
  • Perform testing of corrosion prevention systems, including cathodic protection, protective coatings, AC/DC interference, and corrosion monitoring
  • Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements, and rectifier data
  • Diagnose and develop recommended remedies for system difficulties observed during resurvey operations
  • Write survey reports for review by an engineer
  • Sketch rectifiers, anodes, test stations, and other design features on prepared drawings
  • Sketch physical features of installation site for subsequent addition of detail
  • Organize and reduce data gathered, prepare charts and tables
  • Assemble and analyze data for preparation of final client report, including recommendations
  • Prepare survey reports and final job reports for review
  • Assist manager in appraising employee performance and related matters
  • Act as direct interface with customer as needed
  • Assist in cost estimation and detailed proposal
Qualifications:
  • AMPP/NACE CP Technologist (CP III), CIP II, or working towards them
  • 7 years corrosion control experience
  • Valid Driver's License with good driver's abstract
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team and internal customer service skills required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills, with ability to work with complex spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to travel overnight and work overtime
