Eligibility: 1 year of recent acute medical/surgical experience required.
Emergency Nursing Specialty Program Details
On-Site Orientation Day: Specific date to be determined
Workshop Days: Specific dates to be determined
Online Prerequisites: Specific timeframe to be determined
Full-time training and practicum locations: Specific timeframe to be determined
*Course dates may be adjusted based on prior course completions; funding is available for required courses only.
Travel to designated areas may be necessary during practicums (exact dates to be confirmed). Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to policy.
Candidates must successfully complete the post-basic training prior to commencing work in the department.
Individuals accepting this training opportunity agree to remain with the organization as a regular status nurse in the relevant nursing area for a minimum of 18 months following the completion of training.
This commitment ensures that candidates can consolidate and apply the skills in the specialty area that the organization has supported and funded. If a candidate departs from the relevant nursing area or the organization within 18 months, the organization may seek to recover the training costs.

As a Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
Delivering nursing care to patients/clients in the inpatient ward. Providing nursing care to primarily older residents in a continuing care environment. Offering emergency nursing care to patients/clients of all ages presenting with various symptoms. Enhancing the quality of life from the perspective of the client/resident/patient and/or family. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals. Demonstrating continuous improvement and best practices in nursing. Exhibiting expertise and leadership in nursing practice. Maintaining and advancing personal clinical competence. Participating in designated committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned.ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
The community is located in a picturesque mountain valley, with a small population. The healthcare facility includes acute care beds, long-term care beds, and an emergency department that operates around the clock, along with various support services.

Work hours, including days off and work areas, may change based on operational needs and collective agreements.
As per current health regulations, all employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have received an updated vaccine. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
