Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Security Manager, this role is essential for ensuring the safety and security of employees, visitors, and the premises, both inside and out. The incumbent will play a vital role in fostering a secure and inviting atmosphere for all personnel. This position requires adherence to company protocols, promoting a culture of safety, and leading by example to support the educational environment at Great Canadian Entertainment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Observes, records, and generates reports on infractions, unsafe situations, potential risks, and suspicious activities or individuals.
  • Restricts access to unauthorized individuals.
  • Monitors various transactions and movements.
  • Safely escorts cash and valuables.
  • Identifies and reports lost items, transferring them to the designated Lost and Found.
  • Conducts routine inspections of both the interior and exterior of the facility as instructed.
  • Assists guests and staff with escorting duties as required.
  • Performs identification verification checks.
  • Directs disputes to the Security Supervisor.
  • Manages crowd control as needed.
  • Effectively communicates with relevant operational teams.
  • Cultivates strong relationships with guests and team members.
  • Ensures adherence to licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and other legal requirements.
  • Undertakes additional tasks as assigned or directed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Certification in Food Safety.
  • Guard Force Training is advantageous.
  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 Certification is a plus.
  • Willingness to renew Use of Force Certification every three years.
  • Capability to obtain a Gaming License successfully.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is beneficial but not mandatory.

Work Environment

  • Operates within a 24/7 framework, requiring flexibility in scheduling (including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays).
  • Must consent to a criminal background check with acceptable results for the role.
