Established in 1974, Victoria Park Community Homes stands as one of the most prominent private non-profit housing organizations in Ontario. Our extensive portfolio encompasses over 3,122 apartments, townhouses, and single-family residences throughout Southern Ontario.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a full-time, permanent Financial Analyst to enhance our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and maintain all rental and subsidy accounts.
  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer and the Manager of Client Finances in generating weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.
  • Verify Tenant Rent Calculations prepared by the Rental Coordinator and Rent Administrator.
  • Reconcile monthly tenant subsidies for all managed clients and prepare subsidy requests as necessary.
  • Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable batches for managed clients.
  • Perform month-end journal entries for the CFO and Manager of Client Finances.
  • Support the preparation of monthly Subsidy Distribution Reports and Monthly Target Reports.
  • Assist in budget preparation and analysis for managed clients.
  • Provide monthly utility accruals to the Manager of Client Finances.
  • Contribute to year-end audit preparation and compile working papers for client properties.
  • Maintain all MPAC tenant information in Yardi software and assist in annual MPAC reporting for managed projects.
  • Attend client Board meetings to present financial reports.
  • Prepare annual statistical information reporting and submit required data for review.
  • Provide backup support to Financial Analysts during absences.
  • Perform data entry and other assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Community College diploma in Accounting or CPA Entry Level.
  • Completion of ONPHA's RGI online Certificate within the first year of employment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Windows 10, Word, Excel, and Yardi Property Management Systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be bondable.
  • Regular hours of employment are Monday to Friday, with potential for additional hours as needed.
  • Hybrid work schedule available, with some remote work options.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Considerable time may be spent in front of a computer.
