Reports To: Senior Manager, ESG Reporting

Position Overview: CAPREIT is seeking a dedicated Analyst to enhance its commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices and reporting. This position will work closely with the Senior Manager of ESG and collaborate with colleagues focused on sustainability and social impact initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in Sustainability and a solid understanding of ESG reporting and disclosures, particularly in relation to GRESB. Given the dynamic nature of this field, we are looking for an individual who is adaptable and embraces change with enthusiasm. A strong passion for sustainability is essential, as the candidate will play a key role in advancing CAPREIT's ESG initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with internal teams to identify and gather ESG data. Assist in the preparation of content for CAPREIT's annual ESG report, adhering to GRI, SASB, and TCFD standards. Support the development of public disclosures, ratings, and surveys in line with global benchmarks such as GRESB. Contribute to the creation of sustainability and ESG-related content for both internal and external stakeholders. Engage and work alongside various internal and external stakeholders. Support and/or lead innovative projects aimed at integrating ESG into CAPREIT's objectives. Aid in the formulation of CAPREIT's ESG policies, guidelines, and best practices. Assist in the incorporation of ESG considerations into CAPREIT's overall Enterprise Risk Management framework. Facilitate the automation of ESG data collection and integration using IT tools. Promote process enhancements related to ESG data management, reporting, and the establishment of effective controls. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, including project management tasks related to reporting processes.

Professional Qualifications:

A university degree in sustainability, environmental science/management, or a related field, along with a foundational understanding of the commercial real estate sector. 2-4 years of relevant experience in the ESG domain is required. Experience with ESG Reporting and GRESB submissions is a significant advantage. Familiarity with corporate governance, social, and environmental issues, with a preference for expertise in climate change. A postgraduate degree and/or a sustainability-related certification would be beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Strong analytical and communication skills are crucial.
