About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder - Ironworks Specialist to join our team at Atlas Ironworks Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of iron fabrication and welding services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Experience: The ideal candidate will have a Registered Apprenticeship certificate and 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the field, or equivalent experience.
  • Work Site Environment: The candidate will be working in a hot, noisy, and potentially odorous environment.
  • Work Setting: The role will involve working in a manufacturing setting.
  • Tasks: The Welder - Ironworks Specialist will be responsible for reading and interpreting welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes. They will also examine welds to ensure they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Type of Materials: The candidate will be working with stainless steel, steel, iron, and heavy metals.
  • Welding Techniques: The successful candidate will be proficient in oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux core arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), and submerged arc welding (SAW).
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: The candidate will have experience working with arc welding machines, brazing machines, butt or seam resistance welding machines, gas welding machines, soldering machines, and spot welding machines.
  • Area of Specialization: The Welder - Ironworks Specialist will have expertise in factory assembly, cast iron and other metals, fencing, balconies, stairs, and railings.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: The role will require the candidate to work in a fast-paced environment, handle heavy loads, and perform physically demanding tasks. The candidate must also have manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
