Job Description

Bruno's Contracting (Thunder Bay) Limited is a leading heavy civil construction company with over four decades of experience in heavy civil construction, road building, asphalt paving, materials production, and demolition.

We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Plant Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Operating the asphalt plant to produce various asphalt mixes, ensuring high-quality products are delivered to our clients.
  • Monitoring plant controls to ensure optimal performance and efficiency, within established operating ranges.
  • Performing routine maintenance on the asphalt plant and associated equipment, to prevent downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  • Documenting production quantities, material inventories, and other daily reports, as required, to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Other duties as required, to support the company's goals and objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Moderate computer skills to operate plant software, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to weld and perform other fabrications, to support equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Physical fitness to work in a variety of environmental conditions, with the ability to lift and move heavy equipment as required.
  • Previous experience with asphalt plants, crushing plants, and heavy equipment, is preferred, but not required.
