Position Overview
The selected candidate will collaborate with the team to ensure the integrity of the tailings facility by executing key responsibilities related to tailings and pond management, emphasizing operational safety, surveillance, ongoing construction, and coordination with various internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain comprehensive records of design, construction, operations, maintenance, monitoring, and surveillance.
  2. Plan for tailings deposition.
  3. Ensure compliance with the site-wide water management strategy.
  4. Oversee the execution of design specifications during construction and operational phases.
  5. Support risk assessments of structural integrity.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain accurate construction and performance records, ensuring accessibility of relevant information.
  2. Collaborate with engineering, environmental, and processing teams to develop and implement construction and maintenance plans.
  3. Provide oversight for civil construction and project management.
  4. Review design reports, drawings, and technical specifications.
  5. Interpret and validate monitoring data.
  6. Analyze monitoring data, conduct routine inspections, and recommend improvements for structural conditions.
  7. Work with the Engineer of Record to analyze data and report findings.
  8. Support risk assessments and provide mitigation recommendations.
  9. Monitor adherence to the tailings deposition plan.
  10. Implement and periodically review the site-wide water management strategy.
  11. Oversee the design, construction, and management of tailings and water retention facilities.
  12. Provide budgetary input for operational and capital expenditure needs.
Qualifications:
Education:
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  2. Master's degree in geotechnical engineering preferred.
  3. Professional Engineer designation is required.
Experience:
  1. Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical and tailings management, including design, construction, and closure of facilities.
  2. Expertise in geotechnical engineering for tailings and water storage facilities.
  3. Experience in influencing senior leadership.
  4. Proven ability to manage teams effectively.
Skills:
  1. Familiarity with various mineral processing and tailings handling technologies.
  2. Deep understanding of tailings storage facility governance.
  3. Strong leadership skills in dam safety and critical thinking.
