We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employment Relations Officer to join our team at The Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada. As an Employment Relations Officer, you will play a critical role in providing labour relations representation and advice to our organization and members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate agreements and settlements on a full range of labour relations matters, researching, analyzing, and interpreting jurisprudence, legislation, regulations, employer policies, benefits provisions, and collective agreements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other specialists to provide advice to the organization and develop Institute positions on Institute-wide or group-wide issues, including in support of the collective bargaining process.
  • Participate in the coaching, training, and development of Institute Stewards and represent the Institute on public service-wide labour management committees, national working groups, and other national, regional, and local committees.
Requirements:
  • A university degree in industrial/labour relations, law, or a related discipline.
  • Three to five years of progressive and related experience in labour relations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fluency in both official languages (French and English) is an asset.

  • A competitive salary range of $108,929 to $136,161 (G7).
