About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Houseperson/Runner Attendant to join our hospitality team at Argus Properties. As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and customer service in our hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a neat and organized appearance, adhering to our hotel's uniform and grooming standards.
  • Arrive on time for shifts and be prepared to perform assigned duties with attention to detail and speed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to guest requests and resolving any issues in a professional manner.
  • Perform a variety of tasks, including stripping guest rooms, making beds, collecting soiled linens, and collecting garbage.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, communicating with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Be knowledgeable about our hotel's facilities and services, and be able to promote and direct guests to those areas.
  • Assist with laundry, washing, and delivering linen to the floors, as well as sorting the laundry chute.
  • Manually transport and distribute laundry to pre-designated locations.
  • Stock storage rooms with guest supplies for Room Attendants.
  • Clean linen rooms and electrical rooms.
  • Follow lost and found procedures, bagging and tagging items accurately.
  • Handle chemicals in a cautious and responsible manner, in compliance with MSDS.
  • Stock housekeeping carts with linen, guest supplies, and cleaning supplies.
  • May be required to clean guest rooms and complete stayover cleans for guests in house.
  • Take and complete all brand trainings.
  • Assist other departments when necessary and resolve challenges that may occur.
  • Be available to work varied shifts, including days, weekends, and holidays.
  • Assist in property walks and parking lot cleanups.
  • Follow company health and safety and security procedures.
  • Communicate information to the appropriate hotel personnel on any concerns or issues accurately.
  • Assist other departments when necessary and be available for cross-training or working at our sister properties.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the management team.

Requirements

  • Possess a keen eye for detail and be a self-starter with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada without restriction.
