Housekeeping Runner Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Housekeeping Runner to join our team at the Hampton Inn & Suites - Kelowna Airport. As a Housekeeping Runner, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization in our hotel, ensuring that our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a neat and tidy appearance, adhering to our hotel's uniform and grooming standards.
  • Arrive on time for your shift, prepared to start work promptly.
  • Perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Respond to guest requests in a timely and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
  • Multi-task and prioritize tasks to ensure that all duties are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Complete repetitive tasks, such as stripping guest rooms, making beds, collecting soiled linens, and collecting garbage, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Be knowledgeable about our hotel's facilities and services, promoting and directing guests to relevant areas.
  • Assist with laundry, washing, and delivering linen to floors, as well as sorting the laundry chute.
  • Transport and distribute laundry to designated locations, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Stock storage rooms with guest supplies for Room Attendants, maintaining a well-stocked and organized environment.
  • Clean linen rooms and electrical rooms, adhering to our hotel's cleaning standards.
  • Follow lost and found procedures, bagging and tagging items accurately.
  • Handle chemicals safely and responsibly, adhering to MSDS guidelines.
  • Stock housekeeping carts with linen, guest supplies, and cleaning supplies, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • May be required to clean guest rooms, completing stayover cleans for guests in house.
  • Complete all Brand Trainings, ensuring that you are up-to-date on our hotel's policies and procedures.
  • Assist other departments when necessary, resolving challenges and providing excellent customer service.
  • Be available to work varied shifts, including days, weekends, and holidays.
  • Assist with property walks and parking lot clean-ups, maintaining a safe and clean environment for our guests.
  • Follow company health and safety and security procedures, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely and responsibly.
  • Communicate information to relevant hotel personnel, addressing any concerns or issues accurately.
  • Assist other departments when necessary, cross-training or working at our sister properties.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by management, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
  • Possess a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Be a self-starter, with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Be able to work independently, prioritizing tasks and managing your time effectively.
  • Be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance.
  • Be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, as well as standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
