About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our Western Canada Infrastructure team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the conceptualization and execution of transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist project teams during design and construction project phases
  • Create, manage, and distribute project-related documentation and correspondence
  • Geometric design of highways, municipal roads, and intersections
  • Coordinate project requirements with environmental, geotechnical, utility relocation, and land acquisition disciplines and sub-consultants
  • Produce written planning and design reports
  • Produce design spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
  • Produce construction specifications, tender documents, cost estimates, and aggregate requests
  • Validate and authorize completed professional work products
  • Assist in the completion of technical proposals and fee development
  • Coordinate and provide meeting setup for internal and external meetings
  • Interpret and implement standards from provincial and federal regulatory bodies
  • Maintain positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with design teams within other operating locations in Alberta and Ontario
  • Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes, guidelines, and regulations
Requirements
  • Completion of a university degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Licensee (P.L.(Eng.)) with APEGA or Equivalent
  • 2-7 years' of progressive consulting experience completing transportation projects for Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors or Municipal clients
  • Site Grading and Municipal Design experience would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated experience with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors design guidelines and construction specifications, as well as additional municipal specifications and servicing standards
  • Ability to read and understand survey plans and drawings
  • Excellent field negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Available to travel, evenings and weekends may be necessary
  • Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to think creatively
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance
  • Provide a 3-year driver abstract
