Job Title: Transportation Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team in Calgary. As a Transportation Engineer, you will provide technical support and services to our Traffic Engineering / Transportation Planning team, helping to define the cities of tomorrow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct traffic impact studies, including data collection, traffic analysis modeling, and report writing.
  • Perform parking studies, including policy review, data analysis, and site visits.
  • Develop technical memos and reports.
  • Design roadway conceptual and functional designs.
  • Develop traffic management plans during construction.
  • Design traffic signage and pavement marking plans.
  • Design traffic signal systems.
  • Assist with proposal development, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines, offices, and staff.
  • Liaise with clients and the public.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or Engineering Technology with a focus on Transportation.
  • 5+ years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning, including technical and business development experience.
  • Experience in managing small projects and studies.
  • Working knowledge of Synchro and/or similar traffic analysis software.
  • Ability in AutoCAD at a basic level.
  • Working knowledge of EMME, AIMSUN, VISSIM, SIDRA.
  • Working knowledge of TAC/ BC/ Alberta / municipal geometric design standards.
