Licensed Practical Nurse

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a key member of our care team, responsible for providing high-quality, resident-centered care to our seniors. As a LPN, you will work closely with our Director of Care and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
Responsibilities- Assess residents' needs and develop comprehensive care plans that promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Liaise with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and monitor residents' responses to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences to discuss resident progress and develop strategies for improvement.
- Support the administrative requirements of the community, including admissions, discharges, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Actively participate in orientation of new staff, community programs, and educational in-services to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Provide coaching and direction to care staff as needed, and use in-the-moment education to improve resident care.
- Graduate of an approved program for Practical Nursing and holds a current license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an LPN.
- Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification.
- Successful annual Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) competency testing.
- Previous experience in a long term care facility an asset.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
- Computer skills including the ability to navigate basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Demonstrates collaborative and team working skills.
- Must be in good health, physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift, squat, bend, stand and walk as required to perform the duties of the position.
