Licensed Practical Nurse

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a key member of our care team, responsible for providing high-quality, resident-centered care to our seniors. As a LPN, you will work closely with our Director of Care and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
Responsibilities- Assess residents' needs and develop comprehensive care plans that address their physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Liaise with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and monitor residents' responses to care.
- Document changes in residents' conditions and notify families and physicians as needed.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences to ensure resident-centered care.
- Support the administrative requirements of the community, including admissions and discharge processes.
- Actively participate in orientation of new staff and community programs.
- Provide coaching and direction to care staff as needed.
- Graduate of an approved program for Practical Nursing and holds a current license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an LPN.
- Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification.
- Successful annual Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) competency testing.
- Previous experience in a long term care facility an asset.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
- Computer skills including the ability to navigate basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Demonstrates collaborative and team working skills.
