About the Role

The Assisted Living Clinical Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for coordinating the activities of Home Support Services and ensuring that our residents receive high-quality care. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to assess and liaise with residents to meet their unique needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of Home Support Workers to provide exceptional care and services to our residents.
  • Assess and liaise with residents to develop and implement Personal Service Plans (PSPs) that meet their individual needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and support.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of care and services provided, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Recruit and train new staff members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and community partners to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Graduate of an approved program for Practical Nurses and holds a current full scope License with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Assisted Living Regulations, Assisted Living Registry, and Community Care and Assisted Living Act.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Two years' recent experience as a practicing LPN, preferably in Assisted Living or long-term care setting that included the distribution of medications.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to effectively interact with various individuals involved in providing holistic care in a flexible resident-focused environment.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Ability to motivate and lead others in the accomplishment of a task.
  • Knowledge and experience with managing others, employment practices, and health and safety practices and policies.

Special Requirements

  • Must be willing to work the hours necessary to ensure the effective operation of the community.
  • Must have the capacity to deal with physical and mental impairment, death, and dying.
  • Must be prepared to respond to emergency situations.
