About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team at La Rocca Creative Kitchen in Richmond Hill. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory pastries, bread, and other baked goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Pastry Preparation: Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays.
  • Baking and Decorating: Bake mixed dough and batters, and frost and decorate cakes and baked goods.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchen and food service areas.
  • Machinery Operation: Operate machinery as required.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Work Setting: Bake shop environment.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, tight deadlines, and working under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, dependable, excellent oral communication, judgment, reliability, team player, and patience.
