About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team at La Rocca Creative Kitchen in Richmond Hill. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory pastries, bread, and other baked goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Special Orders: Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays, and ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Quality Control: Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Machinery Operation: Operate machinery, including mixers and ovens, to prepare and bake a variety of products.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent in baking and pastry arts.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Work Setting: Bake shop environment with a fast-paced and dynamic atmosphere.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, dependable, excellent oral communication skills, and a team player with patience and judgement.
