Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist to become part of the Long Term Care team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of clients and their families.
Responsibilities of the Physiotherapist at VCH include:
Independently planning, delivering, and evaluating care to meet the needs of clients experiencing physical challenges and health conditions across various settings. Collaborating with family members, interdisciplinary teams, educational resources, and other healthcare professionals to address the comprehensive needs of clients, enhancing their recovery and participation in the community. Engaging in quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and educational activities to improve physiotherapy services.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
A degree in physiotherapy or rehabilitation sciences. Current full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC). Eligibility for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC). A valid BC Driver's License, with local travel necessitating the use of a personal vehicle.Skills & Competencies
Fundamental understanding of evidence-based clinical practices relevant to the designated area. Familiarity with physiotherapy standardized assessments and methodologies. Comprehensive knowledge of physiotherapy principles and practices within a client-centered care framework. Basic understanding of research methodologies. Awareness of other healthcare disciplines and their contributions to client care. Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team. Capacity to educate and empower clients in managing their health. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and clients, both individually and in group settings. Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with others. Competence in providing insightful consultations. Skill in prioritizing workloads in a complex healthcare environment. Ability to identify when referrals to other healthcare professionals are necessary. Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Proficiency in using physiotherapy equipment and techniques. Basic computer skills.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and work areas, may vary based on operational needs and relevant agreements. Successful candidates may need to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
In accordance with current Public Health Orders, all employees at Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have received the most recent updated vaccine. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
