Position Overview

Salary Range: $50,000 to $55,000

In the role of Counter Sales Lead, you will deliver exceptional sales support to walk-in customers at our Profit Centre counters. Your primary focus will be on providing outstanding customer service by maintaining, stocking, and ensuring a tidy counter sales area. Additionally, you will assist customers by addressing inquiries, processing orders, and following up on any outstanding orders. Support will also extend to the Inside Sales and Outside Sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with their purchases at the Profit Centre counters.
  • Research products for customers and offer recommendations from our extensive product range.
  • Drive sales growth through effective counter merchandising, product promotion, and generating leads for the Outside Account Manager while engaging with customers at the counter.
  • Enter, pick, and pack sales orders generated at the counter.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area, including merchandising displays.
  • Notify the buyer when stock levels are low.
  • Follow up on backorders with suppliers and provide customers with accurate delivery timelines.
  • Process returns and warranty claims for customers, ensuring compliance with all procedures.
  • Address customer concerns and complaints effectively.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Profit Centre Manager.
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; a college or university degree is an asset.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales.
  • Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Capability to learn and utilize the relevant software systems for order processing.
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Intermediate math skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn to operate material handling equipment.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and high integrity standards.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
Preferred Skills
  • Prior experience or knowledge of plumbing and building products available at the Profit Centre.
  • Proficiency in using the Internet as a resource for problem-solving and finding alternative solutions for customers.
