Position Summary

We are seeking a Shop Supervisor to oversee operations at our facility. This role is crucial in managing daily activities within the shop, ensuring that safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives are consistently met. The Shop Supervisor will report directly to the Focus Shop Manager and will be responsible for supervising shop personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Management: Conduct safety meetings, perform monthly audits, and issue work orders for any unsafe equipment. Lead toolbox talks to enhance safety awareness and conduct accident investigations as necessary.
  • Schedule Management: Strive for on-time delivery by collaborating with schedulers and ensuring effective communication of schedules to shop personnel.
  • Personnel Management: Supervise shop personnel in accordance with collective agreements, manage attendance and performance, and provide coaching and disciplinary actions when required.
  • Cost Management: Monitor production levels, implement cost improvement initiatives, and regularly review productivity reports with the team.
  • Training and Development: Ensure all employees are adequately trained in company procedures, emphasizing quality and safety objectives.

Qualifications

  • College Diploma in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 5 to 10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SAP is advantageous.
