Director of Veterinary Hospital Operations

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Hospital Director to lead our veterinary hospital operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in managing hospital operations, leading teams, and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership
- Directly oversee all hospital operations and business activities, leading a team of department managers.
- Partner effectively with the Medical Director to ensure high-quality patient care and achieve business objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive hospital growth and profitability.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Shape a positive hospital culture that fosters trust, teamwork, and excellent client service.
- Strategic Orientation
- Develop a deep understanding of the local market and relationships with referring veterinarians.
- Participate in and support planned marketing events and programs.
- Identify and execute short- and long-term plans for growth, including new services, recruitment, pricing strategies, and equipment acquisitions.
- Financial Analysis & Planning
- Oversee accounting and finance processes, including budgeting and financial reporting.
- Lead hospital financial activities, including monthly review of financial statements and corrective action.
- Apply continuous improvement principles to existing financial and operating processes.
- Own the Profit and Loss statement and drive financial results.
- Business Operations
- Drive results across all elements of the business, setting goals and evaluating progress.
- Help team members develop a deep understanding of the hospital's mission, vision, and values.
- Partner with Ethos and technology providers to support hospital activities and client experience.
- Direct growth activities to support business objectives and plans.
- Understand lean principles and identify opportunities to improve processes and create efficiencies.
- 5+ years of progressive operational management experience with a record of success, including experience owning a P&L.
- MBA or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Larger scale healthcare (veterinary or human) experience ideal.
- Learns quickly and can absorb new information rapidly.
- Self-motivated and expert at motivating, coaching, and inspiring others.
- Ability to roll up your sleeves and get things done with enthusiastic participation.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
