People & Culture Specialist - Retail

Your Impact:
Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional Human Resources support and guidance to our retail operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping a positive and productive work environment that aligns with our organization's values and goals.
Talent Acquisition:You will partner with leaders to identify top talent and build a strong workforce. This includes developing effective recruiting strategies, conducting interviews, and crafting competency-based assessments to attract the best candidates.
Performance Management:As a trusted advisor, you will guide leaders on performance management processes and provide coaching opportunities to enhance employee development and engagement.
Employee Engagement:You will contribute to fostering a vibrant and inclusive workplace by collaborating with organizational leaders and the People & Culture team to implement initiatives that boost morale and job satisfaction.
Succession Planning:You will work closely with current leaders to identify and develop future talent for key positions. This involves advising on career paths, growth opportunities, and succession planning strategies for high-potential employees.
Employee Relations:You will be a champion for positive employee relations by working directly with leaders to address employment issues, explain company policies, and ensure compliance with labor laws and best practices.
Learning & Development:You will design and deliver engaging training programs that enhance the skills and professional development of team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
Disability Management:In collaboration with Total Rewards, Health & Safety, and Risk departments, you will administer the Ability Management Program, manage Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) claims, and handle disability claims effectively.
Who You Are:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR professional with a minimum of 3-5 years of generalist experience. A CPHR designation or equivalent is preferred. You possess:
- A strong understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and employment standards.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- A commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
