About Pinch of Spice

We are a dynamic and fast-paced restaurant looking for a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a Culinary Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, as well as training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring high-quality standards and presentation.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Clean kitchen and work areas, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for staff and customers.
  • Leadership: Manage kitchen operations, leading a team of culinary professionals to achieve exceptional results.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills: Attention to detail, fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, client focus, dependability, flexibility, initiative, organized, reliability, team player.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees

  • Assisting with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Supporting social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Recruiting newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
  • Supporting newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition.
  • Offering mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees.
Support for Youth

We are dedicated to supporting youth employment and development. As a Culinary Specialist, you will have the opportunity to participate in our program, which includes:

  • Participating in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
  • Offering on-the-job training tailored to youth.
  • Offering mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth.
  • Providing awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
Support for Indigenous People
