Energy Management Specialist for Indigenous Communities

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Management Specialist to support our efforts in promoting energy efficiency measures in Indigenous communities across British Columbia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs to increase participation in our Conservation and Energy Management (C&EM) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Promote and increase awareness of C&EM programs and offers among Indigenous communities, building strong relationships and collaborations to drive program participation forward.
- Record and monitor participation in programs and projects, utilizing effective relationship and project management techniques to ensure successful outcomes.
- Develop business cases for new programs and projects, justifying recommendations through cost-effectiveness analysis and collaborating with internal stakeholders to promote C&EM programs to customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Determine appropriate technologies and program eligibility guidelines to maximize participation and natural gas savings while minimizing costs, and develop program applications, terms and conditions, and contractual documents in collaboration with legal services.
- A diploma in business, Indigenous studies, or a related discipline from an accredited university, plus a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related experience in business or program development.
- Experience or knowledge in home renovations, home construction, or related disciplines from the building industry is considered an asset.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills to engage with stakeholders across the business, providing program support and recommendations.
- A strong understanding of, and experience working with Indigenous and First Nations communities in a relationship management capacity.
This role will require some travel away from the base office to within the geographic area of coverage. You will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
