Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Youth Care Worker to join our team at WJS Canada. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and success of our youth in care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overnight care and support to youth in our residential program, ensuring a safe and healthy environment at all times.
  • Assist with daily routines, including wake-up calls, breakfast preparation, and morning activities.
  • Drive youth to school on school days, promoting a sense of routine and responsibility.
  • Model positive behaviors and provide guidance to youth, promoting their emotional and social development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver culturally sensitive programs and activities.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation, including log books, contact notes, and incident reports.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Child and Youth Work, preferably in a group home or community setting.
  • Experience working with Indigenous youth is an asset.
  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Work, or a related field.
  • First Aid/CPR certification and training in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and medication administration.
  • Indigenous Awareness and cultural diversity training.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, following WJS Canada's policies and procedures.
  • A valid driver's license and excellent communication skills.
