About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Awake Youth Worker to join our team at WJS Canada. As a key member of our staff, you will provide a safe and supportive environment for children and youth in care, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overnight support and care for children and youth, including regular bed checks and responding to their needs.
- Assist with daily routines, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
- Support the development of life skills, such as personal hygiene, cooking, and household management.
- Collaborate with other team members to plan and deliver culturally appropriate programs and activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children and youth at all times.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Child and Youth Work, preferably in a group home or community setting.
- Experience working with Indigenous children and youth is an asset.
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Work, or a related field.
- First Aid/CPR Certificate and training in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and medication administration.
- Indigenous Awareness and cultural diversity training.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
