About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Family Dental Care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation
    • Prepare patients for dental examinations by explaining the procedure and ensuring they are comfortable and relaxed.
    • Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and materials as needed.
  • Administrative Support
    • Order dental and office supplies to maintain a well-stocked and efficient practice.
    • Perform administrative functions for the dental laboratory, including preparing and sending out lab work.
  • Instrument Maintenance
    • Prepare dental instruments and filling materials for use during procedures.
    • Maintain and sterilize instruments and equipment to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Patient Education
    • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide guidance on how to maintain good oral health.
  • Scheduling and Record-Keeping
    • Schedule and confirm patient appointments in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Record dental procedures performed on patients, including notes and any relevant information.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a dental setting.
  • Computer and Technology Skills
    • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Windows, and MS Word.
