Information Systems Manager

Role Overview: The Information Systems Manager is tasked with overseeing a range of technical and support functions related to the organization's computer systems. Responsibilities include the installation and maintenance of various network and desktop systems, software, and hardware; providing technical support; conducting system backups; and developing network security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage all facets of the organization's computer systems, including planning, evaluation, maintenance, and research for system enhancements;
  • Address IT troubleshooting requests and ensure the installation, configuration, and upkeep of network software applications, servers, and devices;
  • Monitor system performance, resolve hardware issues, and assist users with network application software;
  • Lead the organization's cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring the establishment and enforcement of IT security policies;
  • Conduct system backups and data recovery while securely managing backup data;
  • Facilitate staff training and liaise with vendors regarding system components;
  • Engage in strategic planning and contribute to the design and modification of network architecture;
  • Plan and implement IT projects in collaboration with relevant departments;
  • Recommend policies and procedures to regulate Information Systems operations;
  • Support Board devices and manage livestreaming for meetings;
  • Develop user database inquiry systems as needed;
  • Collaborate with departments to identify technology needs and devise long-term equipment and software strategies;
  • Manage contracts related to computer systems and oversee initial data entry;
  • Authorize financial and operational transactions as per administrative guidelines;
  • Assign and manage user access across the system;
  • Attend meetings to provide IT support;
  • Prepare reports and maintain necessary records;
  • Assist in managing the corporate telephone system;
  • Support the organization's emergency response initiatives.
  • Perform additional related tasks as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of networks, their components, and communication systems;
  • Proficient understanding of computer hardware, software, and network operations;
  • Ability to install, configure, and maintain computer systems and networks;
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve system issues;
  • Capability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships;
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Educational Background: A diploma in computer sciences from a recognized institution, along with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in systems support. Relevant certifications in Microsoft Network Operating Systems, network applications, and telecommunications equipment are essential.

Financial Responsibilities: Responsible for budget management, invoice approvals, and purchasing authority.

Work Environment: Primarily office-based with occasional travel required.

Physical and Mental Demands: The role may involve outdoor elements and requires focused visual and auditory attention.

Required Certifications: A valid Class 5 Driver's License is necessary.
