Our Renewal Practice

Our Renewal division offers property owners and managers comprehensive solutions for a diverse array of structural, envelope, and building systems requirements for existing properties, regardless of their use, age, or construction type. Our multidisciplinary design and evaluation services encompass a broad spectrum of needs, including condition assessments, investigations, feasibility studies, and peer reviews. We are responsible for designing repairs, renovations, and alterations while overseeing their implementation in the field.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer for our Renewal Practice. The ideal candidate will possess experience in structural design, repair, renovation, retrofit design, demolition, and/or property loss consulting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations of building structures and envelopes to evaluate conditions and formulate repair recommendations (may involve working at heights using swing stages, scaffolding, or lifts).
  • Perform structural analysis and design rehabilitation for concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural systems.
  • Coordinate design efforts with in-house personnel and external consultants, including architects, other engineering disciplines, cost consultants, and contractors.
  • Prepare technical documentation for building structure and envelope projects.
  • Assist in construction administration for structural and envelope initiatives.
  • Engage in projects that involve structural and envelope investigations, demolition, repair, alteration, and expansion, primarily on existing buildings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Relevant full-time experience with existing building structures and/or envelopes for renovation and extensions.
  • Possession or progression towards professional engineer (P.Eng) licensure or Building Science Specialist (BSS) certification.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and experience in technical writing are essential.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Ontario.
