Job Summary

The Leasing and Property Management Services Manager is responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of residential rentals, commercial leased properties, and rental agreements. This includes identifying new lease opportunities, managing existing spaces, and ensuring compliance with legal, risk, and financial policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and implement policies and procedures to improve leasing and childcare activities.
  • Identify and secure new lease spaces, renew existing leases, and terminate or renegotiate agreements as needed.
  • Manage a mixed portfolio of residential rentals and commercial leased properties, ensuring compliance with district and industry policies.
  • Oversee rental agreements and childcare operator licenses, ensuring timely renewals and compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with finance, risk, education, and rentals departments to manage expenses, revenues, and budgets.
  • Review contracts and submit reports to auditors, internal departments, and the board as required.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to gather expert advice and recommendations on leasing strategies and landlord communication.
  • Create and track budgets, reporting on annual spend and changes to internal partners.
  • Apply for childcare capital funding and oversee project completion, including coordinating purchases, renovations, and equipment needs with childcare operators.
  • Secure Fraser Health childcare licensing, monitor space usage, and facilitate relocations of childcare programs in response to changing school space requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in real estate, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leasing commercial real estate and/or property management, or an equivalent combination of post-secondary training and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others in a consultative and collaborative manner.
  • Effective critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-resolution skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.
  • Acts with accountability, responsibility, and transparency in the use of public funds.

  • A valid driver's license is required.
