About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Continuing Care Assistant to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a Continuing Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in our nursing home/home for the aged setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up and assembling of medical equipment
  • Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort, including bathing, dressing, and grooming patients
  • Supply and empty bed pans, and transport patients between care facilities
  • Take patients' blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and serve meal trays and feed patients
  • Make beds and maintain patients' rooms, and supervise patients' exercise routines
  • Deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments, and maintain inventory of supplies
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations, and collect specimens
Requirements
  • Acute care nursing Certificate
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
  • Geriatric Certificate
  • Continuing Care Assistant Certification
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Nursing Aide Certificate
  • Health Care Aide Certificate
Work Environment

This is a permanent position in an urban area, with a fast-paced environment and physically demanding work conditions. You will work under pressure and be required to stand for extended periods, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
