About the Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Continuing Care Assistant to join our team at Shannex Incorporated in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

As a Continuing Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, assisting with daily living activities, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and mobilizing
  • Collaborate with residents and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Assist with light housekeeping duties and perform delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice
  • Communicate and report relevant information regarding resident care or safety to Supervisor
About You

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a valid Continuing Care Certification or Provincial Personal Care Worker course or equivalent
  • Is registered in Nova Scotia's CCA registry as per the Continuing Care Assistants Registry Act (NS only)
  • Can work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Can provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening
  • Has previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment (an asset)
