Job Summary

Dillon Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Waste Management Specialist to join our team. As a Waste Management Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our solid waste projects related to waste diversion programs, waste management planning, and approvals, and waste management facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in solid waste projects related to waste diversion programs, waste management planning, and approvals, and waste management facilities.
  • Perform assessments, calculations, data collection, and data analysis to support planning and engineering activities.
  • Assist project managers and liaise with waste management specialists, engineers, environmental scientists, and others on a variety of multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Field work related to construction observation, data collection, and inspection.
  • Coordinate and manage project tasks, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications

  • A degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or planning.
  • 2-5 years of experience in solid waste management, preferably within a consulting environment.

Experience

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, and keen attention to detail.
  • Aptitude to learn.
  • Ability to understand and work with relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation, environmental policies, codes, and standards.
  • Ability to apply criteria to analytical data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is an asset.
