GFL Environmental is seeking an experienced AZ Owner Operator to join our Line Haul Division in South Western Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for transporting solid waste from transfer stations to various landfills and daily runs to Michigan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport solid waste from transfer stations to various landfills
  • Perform daily runs to Michigan
  • Inspect vehicles daily for mechanical issues and safety concerns to ensure safe operation and public safety
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, equipment damage, and property damage when applicable
  • Document and log driving/break periods in kilometers on daily trip reports and E-logs in accordance with DOT & MTO regulations
  • Document and retain records of all tractor maintenance and complete monthly reporting
  • Retain copies of fuel, border toll receipts, and pick-up/delivery tickets to complete daily paperwork
  • Comply with applicable legislation, including safe operation of vehicles, carriage of goods, Hours of Service, occupational health and safety, customs and immigration, and weights and dimensions
  • Approximately 600-1100 km per day, 10-14 hour runs
  • Home nightly
  • Insurance, plates, and authorities provided by GFL

Requirements:

  • Valid AZ license
  • Ability to cross the US border in a CMV daily
  • 3+ years of related AZ driving experience
  • Ability to provide Driver's Abstract, CVOR Abstract, and criminal background check
  • Great attitude and work ethic
  • Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
