Role Overview:

The Residence Services Assistant plays a crucial role in facilitating Front Desk operations for students throughout the academic year and managing conference services during the summer. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate student and guest records using relevant software tools. The Assistant serves as the primary information source for students, guests, conference attendees, and contractors, ensuring that inquiries are directed to the appropriate personnel. Effective communication with the conference team, administrative staff, residence assistants, and maintenance personnel is vital to uphold service standards for both guests and residents. Responsibilities include signing in guests and contractors, verifying resident identification upon entry, and managing mail distribution. Note that training hours may vary.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

A one-year certificate or equivalent in Public Relations or Hospitality is required.

Professional Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel, front desk, or residence services is preferred.

Essential Skills:

Candidates should exhibit strong interpersonal, listening, and customer service abilities; capacity to perform under pressure while demonstrating sound judgment; and the capability to respond effectively in emergencies or challenging situations. Proven ability to follow established procedures and standards is necessary. Proficiency in computer applications, including email and Microsoft Office Suite, is essential. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are critical for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
