Job Title: Education Assistant - Support Staff

Job Summary:

The Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA) is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Education Assistant to join our team. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, promoting inclusive education, and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students to maximize participation and learning in an inclusive environment
  • Supplement and extend the instructional and management functions of teachers and other professional personnel
  • Assist teachers in designing and implementing individualized or group communication skills, behavioral support, learning support, or life skills
  • Assist in the collection of data, including observations and recording of academic and behavioral progress
  • Attend to and provide personal care as required
  • Interact with students in a professional and effective manner
  • Participate in school-based team meetings and IEP meetings as required

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • EA certification
  • Current first aid course
  • Experience working with students and/or adults with exceptionalities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • Experience working in a Catholic school setting
