Position Overview

The Custodial Relief Specialist is accountable to the Principal and is tasked with the upkeep and maintenance of the school's facilities and equipment. The individual in this role is essential in ensuring that the educational environment is preserved in a hygienic, secure, and sanitary condition.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Comprehension of cleaning methodologies, agents, products, and tools.
  • Capability to interpret and understand labels and instructions, particularly regarding the use and application of cleaning agents and products.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong time management capabilities.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn about the objectives and operations of the organization.
  • Awareness of local culture and the ability to function in a diverse environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in a local indigenous language is considered an asset.
  • Respectful demeanor with cultural awareness and sensitivity.

Qualifications

Typically, the qualifications for this position would be acquired through the completion of Grade 10 and relevant experience.

Additional Information

This role is categorized as a Relief position, which entails no fixed hours of work on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The incumbent may be called upon to work as needed in facilities that operate year-round.
