Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 310T Apprentice to join our team as a Transit Bus Technician. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services for our heavy-duty transit buses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and support to customers, including acceptance and in-field service for bus deliveries, implementation of company policies, and assistance in warranty situations.
  • Service and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair all OEM systems, perform retrofit work, and maintain a toolset sufficient to do repair work on New Flyer buses.
  • Communication: Communicate the status of assignments daily through text or email to the Field Service Team Lead and RPSM, and report all issues affecting New Flyer product or business.
  • Documentation: Maintain tracking documents as assigned by the Field Service Team Lead and RPSM, and review the iBus website regularly.
  • Software Utilization: Utilize Service Cloud for starting and ending workday, starting and completing repairs with adequate notes, and documenting all repairs.
Requirements
  • Education: High School, Trade School, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Started apprentice program or close to finish the apprentice program.
  • Skills: Diagnostic tools, hand tools, good theoretical knowledge of transit bus electrical, mechanical, air system, hydraulic systems, HVAC systems, CAN/J1939, 608 certification, ASE transit certifications, CDL license.
