Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled 310T Apprentice to join our team as a Transit Bus Technical Support Specialist. As a key member of our Field Service team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our customers, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our transit buses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and assistance to customers, including acceptance and in-field service for bus deliveries, implementation of company policies, and assistance in warranty situations.
  • Complete retrofits, training, and gather product failure information to improve our products and services.
  • Work closely with our Field Operations Supervisor and RPSM to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Travel to work site locations as assigned, attending training sessions and maintaining a toolset sufficient to perform repair work on New Flyer buses.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all OEM systems, assist suppliers in troubleshooting, and perform retrofit work as assigned.
  • Operate and maintain service vehicles, communicate assignment status daily, and report issues affecting New Flyer product or business.
  • Maintain tracking documents, review the iBus website regularly, and utilize Service Cloud for starting and ending workdays, as well as completing repairs with adequate notes.

Requirements:

  • High School, Trade School, or equivalent education.
  • Started apprentice program or close to finishing the apprentice program.
  • Diagnostic tools, hand tools, and good theoretical knowledge of transit bus electrical, mechanical, air system, hydraulic systems, HVAC systems, CAN/J1939, 608 certification, ASE transit certifications, CDL license.
  • Ability to perform workman/mechanic duties.
