Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a skilled and compassionate Program Services Caseworker to join our team at Belinda's Place. As a key member of our residential facility team, you will play a vital role in supporting clients and ensuring the smooth operation of our day-to-day activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an active caseload and provide primary support casework to clients.
  • Responsible for client admissions and intake processing, case triaging, and referral and clerical duties.
  • Provide clients with encouragement and access to wrap-around supports that ultimately lead to obtaining and maintaining housing.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and services to support client needs.
  • Record activities and incidents occurring during the shift in a factual and concise manner using Logbook and/or Incident Occurrence Reports.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the smooth operation of the residential facility.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reporting monthly performance statistics and ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
  • Complete daily front-line worker responsibility logs and bed board charts.
  • Perform all relevant documentation related to Program Services Caseworker, including but not limited to intake/discharge forms, client HIFIS notes, shift logs, incident reports, client forms, medication documents, client applications, stats reports.

Qualifications and Education:

  • College diploma or equivalent post-secondary education.
  • Valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and a current copy of a Driver's abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience working with homelessness, mental health, and related issues.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of anti-racism, anti-oppression, and equity principles.
  • Good knowledge of community resources and services.

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a permanent full-time position.
  • Shift schedules 84 hours biweekly average 42 hours weekly.
  • PSCW staff members work onsite at Belinda's Place.
  • Minimal travel required.
