About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Labour Standards Officer to join our team at LEXO-1000 INC. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign Projects: Assign projects to subordinates and staff related to work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention.
  • Direct and Control Daily Operations: Direct and control daily operations to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Plan and organize daily operations to ensure efficient use of resources and minimize risks.
  • Review HR Directives: Review HR directives to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Establish and Implement Policies: Establish and implement policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Inspect Spills: Inspect spills of hazardous chemicals or products to ensure prompt and effective response.
  • Oversee Classification and Rating: Oversee the classification and rating of occupations to ensure accurate and consistent application of safety protocols.
  • Inspect Workplaces: Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Investigate Accidents: Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee Report Preparation: Oversee the preparation of reports to ensure accurate and timely submission.
  • Advise Senior Management: Advise senior management on occupational health and safety matters to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Respond to Employee Questions: Respond to employee questions and complaints related to occupational health and safety.
  • Evaluate Work Environments: Evaluate work environments, programs, and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Tablet computer, Electronic mail
  • Type of Inspection and Investigation: Sanitary conditions, Hazardous products handling and storage, Workplace, Work-related accidents
  • Area of Work Experience: Construction site
  • Area of Specialization: Reports
  • Screening Questions: Are you currently a student? Are you currently legally able to work in Canada? Do you have previous experience in this field of employment? Do you have the above-indicated required certifications? What is your current level of study?
