About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at Vaco. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in providing financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain financial reports, including budgeting and forecasting, using tools such as PeopleSoft, Excel, and Access.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions, including identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior analysts, managers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement financial strategies.
  • Conduct monthly accounts analysis and reconciliations, and handle responsibility for maintenance of General Ledger-Chartfield maintenance, journal entries, and month-end closing.
  • Prepare Employer Health Tax and WSIB monthly submission, and provide assistance with year-end closing and audit as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development, and actively pursuing CPA program at a senior level.
  • Minimum 3-5 years progressive experience in Finance/Accounting, including 1-2 years of experience in decision support.
  • High level of proficiency in the use of computer tools, including an ERP-based financial system, preferably PeopleSoft.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Financial Accounting and GAAP.
  • Ability to handle application of advanced analytical and computer skills for the analysis of non-routine financial information.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to handle overlapping deadlines and frequent changes in priorities.
