Senior Accountant/Senior Financial Analyst Role

Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant/Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at a reputable organization in the North Brampton Area. This 8-month contract position offers the possibility of going permanent and requires on-site presence at least once a week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
  • Review account reconciliations and analysis, and journal entry approval
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
  • Administer performance of certain controls over the financial reporting processes and assist in the design, review, and evaluation of internal controls; Sarbanes compliance testing and reporting
  • Analyze and investigate variances for various balance sheet accounts
  • Reconcile sub-ledger to ledger for Tax Modules and Recreation module to general ledger, including following up with departments to ensure transactions are entered correctly and the preparation of supporting schedules for property tax ledger/FIR
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of overall general accounting experience
  • CPA, ACCA, FCCA designation is needed, or close to attaining
  • Efficient in Great Plains or large ERP systems
  • Month-end closings experience highly desired
  • Experience in Municipal or Non-for-Profit companies would be ideal
